项目开启!|WELC校助导师强化培训体系,助力HPA优秀教师培养

在HPA,为了不断追求发展动力、教育理念、教育能力、考学能力、专业功底等五个维度的提升,老师们未曾停止过学习。在本次校助导师强化培训项目中,来自 UCL的两位资深讲师授课来到HPA,为老师们带来了一场别开生面的高强度培训。此次培训的重点聚焦于对教师校助导师(Mentor)的学习和实操。

紫荆教育者学习共同体(World Educator Learning Community, WELC)携手伦敦大学学院(Univervisty College London, UCL)基于英格兰教师早期发展框架(Early Career Framework, ECF)共同研发适合中国国际特色学校的“优秀教师培养体系”,旨为学校建立培养优秀教师的体系和模式。由职助导师(Faciitator)、校助导师(Mentor)和职早教师(Early Career Teacher, ECT)组成的专业学习型社区(Professional Learning Community, PLC),将会通过师徒制辅导、学习小组,在实践中应用、思考等方式完成9大模块的系统性职业提升。

教龄3年以上教师,具备多年教学经验,可申请担任校内导师,与1-3位职早教师组成学习小组,组织专业学习活动。每个学校可组成若干个学习小组。UCL和WELC组织中外资深教师及行业专家,为专业学习小组提供ECF课程和导师培训。
当学校师徒制建立起来以后,“校助导师”与“职早教师”共同进行日常教学反思,将会起到事半功倍的效果。同时”职早教师”将会通过这样反复练习的过程,养成反思的职业习惯,对于老师们今后提高教学和学习能力很关键。

Teachers with more than 3 years of teaching experience can apply to serve as school mentors, forming a study group with 1-3 Early Career Teachers (ECTs) to organize professional learning activities. Each school can establish several study groups. UCL and WELC will organize senior teachers and industry experts from both China and abroad to provide ECF courses and mentor training for these professional learning groups.
Once the school's mentorship system is in place, the joint daily teaching reflections between "school mentors" and "early career teachers" will yield highly effective results. At the same time, ECTs will develop a habit of professional reflection through this repeated practice, which is crucial for enhancing their future teaching and learning abilities.

1. Confidence in Professional Voice and Persona
Teachers should develop a strong, authentic professional identity that reflects their values and teaching philosophy. This involves being able to articulate their ideas clearly and assertively, fostering trust and respect among students, colleagues, and the community.
2. Strong Knowledge of the Evidence Underpinning the ECF
Understanding the Early Career Framework (ECF) is essential for new teachers. This includes familiarity with research-based practices that support effective teaching and learning, ensuring that educators can implement evidence-based strategies in their classrooms.
3. Capacity to Apply Research Judiciously to Different Contexts
Teachers should be able to critically evaluate and adapt research findings to fit their unique classroom environments. This means recognizing the nuances of their student populations and school settings, and applying relevant strategies that enhance learning outcomes.

Continuous professional growth is vital for educators. Teachers should actively seek out opportunities for development, understanding that lifelong learning enhances their skills and positively impacts student success.
5. New Ways of Thinking and a Sense of Professional Curiosity
Encouraging innovative thinking and curiosity allows teachers to explore new teaching methodologies and technologies. This openness to new ideas can lead to improved instructional practices and a more engaging learning environment for students.
6. Sense of Fulfillment from Developing as a Professional
Teachers should find joy and satisfaction in their professional growth journey. This fulfillment comes from seeing the positive impact they have on their students and their continuous improvement as educators, contributing to their overall job satisfaction and effectiveness.

The development system will be supported by experienced mentors and in-school mentors, providing guidance and support to early-career teachers. The program will focus on the following nine key modules, helping teachers create personalized development plans and offering professional development advice, ensuring comprehensive support for the growth of all teachers.
Module 1: Enable Pupil Learning
This module focuses on understanding how to create an effective learning environment that promotes student growth. Teachers will learn strategies to identify students' needs, set high expectations, and support diverse learning styles. Emphasis will be on fostering a growth mindset and encouraging student agency, enabling them to take ownership of their learning journey.
Module 2: Engage Pupil Learning
In this module, teachers will explore techniques to actively engage students in their learning process. This includes using interactive teaching methods, incorporating technology, and developing creative lesson plans that capture students' interests. Teachers will also learn how to build strong relationships with students to motivate and inspire them to participate actively in class discussions and activities.
Module 3: Develop Quality Pedagogy
This module centers on enhancing teaching practices by exploring various pedagogical approaches. Teachers will investigate different instructional strategies, including differentiated instruction, collaborative learning, and inquiry-based learning. The goal is to equip teachers with the skills to adapt their teaching methods to meet the varying needs of their students, ensuring effective and impactful learning experiences.
Module 4: Make Productive Use of Assessment
Assessment is a critical component of the learning process. In this module, teachers will learn how to use formative and summative assessments effectively to gauge student understanding and inform instruction. They will explore techniques for providing constructive feedback, setting learning goals, and using assessment data to guide lesson planning and curriculum adjustments.
Module 5: Fulfill Professional Responsibilities
This module addresses the professional duties of teachers beyond classroom instruction. Participants will discuss ethical practices, collaboration with colleagues, and communication with parents and the community. The focus will be on developing a professional identity and understanding the impact of a teacher’s role in fostering a positive school culture and supporting student welfare.
Module 6: Inquiry into Enabling Pupil Learning
In this inquiry-based module, teachers will reflect on their practices related to enabling student learning. Through case studies and peer discussions, participants will identify challenges they face and explore innovative solutions to enhance student engagement and achievement. This module encourages a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
Module 7: Inquiry into Engaging Pupils in Learning
This module encourages teachers to investigate what truly engages students in their learning. Participants will analyze their classroom practices, gather student feedback, and research current trends in education. The insights gained will help teachers create more engaging and relevant learning experiences that resonate with students' interests and real-world applications.
Module 8: Inquiry into Developing Quality Pedagogy and Making Productive Use of Assessment
This comprehensive module allows teachers to delve into both pedagogical development and assessment practices. Through collaborative inquiry, participants will examine their teaching methodologies alongside their assessment strategies. The goal is to align instructional practices with assessment outcomes to enhance student learning and drive academic success.
Module 9: Fulfilling Professional Responsibilities
Building on previous discussions of professional responsibilities, this module emphasizes leadership and advocacy within the educational community. Teachers will explore ways to engage in professional development, contribute to school initiatives, and mentor colleagues. The focus will be on fostering a collaborative environment that supports all educators and promotes best practices in teaching.
These modules collectively aim to create a robust mentorship system that empowers teachers to continuously improve their practice and enhance student learning outcomes.
校助导师的指导有助于职业早期教师建立自信,提高教学技能,并与整个教师培训过程形成连贯性。优秀教师培养体系将会提升教师们整体教学质量,促进专业发展,增强学生学习效果,建立积极校园文化。终身学习,期待HPA的教师们带领孩子们的不断进步!
The guidance provided by school mentors helps early-career teachers build confidence, improve their teaching skills, and create continuity throughout the teacher training process. The outstanding teacher development system will enhance overall teaching quality, promote professional growth, improve student learning outcomes, and foster a positive school culture. Lifelong learning is key, and we look forward to seeing HPA’s teachers lead their students to continuous progress!
